About Buk Chon Korean Cuisine
Located in heart of Old City Philadelphia. Buk Chon Korean Cuisine presents a modern approach to a traditional korean cuisine fare featuring a contemporary chef driven menu.
Located at 132 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19106, Buk Chon Korean Cuisine operates as a korean restaurant serving Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Philadelphia, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Pennsylvania run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 amβ10 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Buk Chon Korean Cuisine at (215) 925-9998; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is bukchonkorean.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 737 reviews, which is a strong result for a korean restaurant in Philadelphia and suggests consistent service.
Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Philadelphia follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The food was great. They have a vegan option as well which was my choice. The waiter was very kind and the atmosphere at the place was really pleasant for my taste. They gave us side dishes as well!!! The food came fast! π

We drove into Philly and wanted an easy spot to have a good meal in the Old City. This place did NOT fail us! Great atmosphere β nice dimmed lighting but bright enough to read the menus without squinting (elder millennial here). Lovely service. The food was sublime. We had the buns, as well as chicken in honey soy glaze, to share; then for our entrees, bibimbap and spicy pork skillet. The flavors were distinct in each dish and we finished our meal feeling sated but not stuffed and ill. Absolutely fabulous place with price points that donβt leave you feeling anxious when you reach for your wallet. Would 100% recommend!!

A very beautiful, cozy place to have a nice dinner with my girlfriend. All the people there are exceptionally welcoming and kind to us + our dog, the service top notch - all in the details when they checked up on us. From clearing our tables and refilling our waters in a timely manner to just making sure that we were doing good, everything was perfect. The food is also consistently delicious and always have my tastebuds craving for more even after making my stomach well fed. Would highly recommend the fire chicken and ribeye bulgogi, as we have gotten that a couple times and every time it was superb, though the other dishes look equally desirable. The side dishes (especially the kimchi) that come with it are so so good and authentic it makes you realize this place is legit. Also consider the appetizers as they seriously slap too but also come out quicker so your mouth isn't drooling while you wait for your entree. 100% would come here again for a date night out as its such a pretty little spot with incredibly tasty food, just so amazing overall. extra points for being close to penns landing and dessert shops.

Phenomenal food! We loved everything we tried especially the bibimbap and the green onion pancake. The drinks were also amazing. We tried the pear punch and the fruit teas. Service was friendly and fast. Our food was served piping hot with good pacing between the appetizers and entrees. The atmosphere was clean, calm, and quiet. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Buk Chon!

I had a great experience at Buk Chon Korean Cuisine. The food was super tasty β we ordered two appetizers and two main dishes, and everything was delicious. The environment is really chill, and although there are TVs inside, they stay off, which keeps the vibe calm and comfortable. The service was friendly. We spent about $80 total including tip, which felt reasonable for the quality and portions. One thing to note: the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. Overall, definitely worth checking out if youβre looking for great Korean food in a cozy, relaxed atmosphere.
